Restorative Treatments
Your first line of defence against tooth decay, abscesses and other mouth problems is a healthy dental hygiene routine, combined with regular visits to the dentist for a full examination and clean. At times however, a corrective procedure is required. At our Blackburn Dental and Facial Clinic, we realise that even just reading about these procedures can make you feel uneasy and anxious. This is why our dentists take special care to put you at ease through every part of the procedure. Every member of our staff at Relax Dental and Facial Care will treat you with kindness and warm professional courtesy. Our dentists take the time to listen and your comfort is our number 1 priority.

Restorative Dentistry for Healthier Teeth

At our Blackburn Dental and Facial Aesthetic Clinic, our range of restorative dental treatments includes:
-
Root Canal: Root canal treatment is a procedure to replace damaged or infected tooth pulp with a filling. This stops the infection spreading to the jaw where it might cause bone loss. This treatment can be your best chance at keeping a damaged or infected tooth.
-
Fillings: Fillings are used to repair decayed, damaged or worn teeth. Different instruments are used to remove decay. This hole is then filled with a filling material. We have a range of filling materials available, including those that match the natural appearance of your teeth so that no one will be able to notice the difference.
-
Bridge: A bridge is a treatment to fill in the gap left by a missing tooth. A false tooth or “pontic” is placed in the gap to restore your smile, maintain the shape of your face, better distribute the forces in your bite and prevent your remaining teeth from drifting out of position.
-
Crown: A crown is used to cover a damaged tooth. It can be used to replace a large filling where there is not enough tooth remaining, or to cover over root canal work.

When it’s time to undertake the procedure at our Blackburn Dental and Facial Aesthetic Clinic, our dentists will sit you down in our comfortable Italian dental chairs. You can watch your favourite TV shows or movies on the entertainment system. Or, if you prefer to have a nap we have a range of sedation and anaesthesia options. These include highly safe nitrous oxide, also known as “happy gas” or “laughing gas”. This is a colourless, odourless gas that disassociates you from your body and relaxes you with a warm, pleasant, tingly sensation. It is very safe, and will wear off in minutes after the gas supply is stopped, and leave you unimpaired.
