Are you interested in Veneers?

Many say that your smile is your best accessory, so why not make your smile the best that it can be! Veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment which are a great option for people who have teeth with stains, gaps or chipping. A Veneer is a thin piece of material which is made to imitate the look of a real tooth.

There are two main types of veneers, porcelain and composite. Composite veneers are the most cost effective option which are sculpted on your teeth on the day of the appointment, rather than an offsite lab. The resin material is applied directly to the teeth where it is then shaped by the dentist. This material can be layered and sculpted until the desired appearance is reached. Once achieved, the resin is polished to give a more natural tooth appearance.

Alternatively, Porcelain veneers are also a common option and can last from 10-20 years before needing to be replaced. The typical process for Porcelain veneers involves two sessions. During the first appointment the dentist will take impressions of the teeth. These will be sent to an offsite lab for the veneers to be made. A small layer of the enamel will then be removed in order to allow room for the veneer and a temporary veneer will be placed.

Once the porcelain veneers have been delivered, the temporary veneer will be removed. The tooth will then be cleaned, prior to placing an adhesive material on to it. The veneer will then be placed and light cured for 60 seconds to cement its position. The final step is for the dentist to remove any excess material and polish the margins of the veneer.
